Council 8342
serves St. John the Evangelist Church Parish in Prairieville, La. and was established in April of 1983 with 46 Charter Members. The council is presently approaching a membership of 200. Our service programs have won many State and Supreme Council awards.
We meet
monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 7:00p.m. in the St. John Community Center.

Church
with - Quarterly Communion; Clergy Appreciation; Promote Religious Vocations; Monthly Rosary; Support Seminarian; Corpus Christi Procession; Promote Pro-Life Activities & Prayer in School; Support Ladies Altar Society; Monument to the Unborn; Ten Commandments/Beatitudes Monument; Serve as Eucharist Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, School of Religion Teachers and RCIA Sponsors
Community
with - Blood Drives; Senior Citizen/Firemen/Lawmen/Teacher Banquets; Aid to Retarded Citizens; Assist Needy Citizens; Support Food Bank
Youth
with - Catholic Youth Leadership Awards; Free Throw Contest; Alcohol/Drug Poster Contest; Soccer Challenge; Youth Expansion Program; Essay Contest; Support Boy Scout Troop 131; Parish Halloween Party; Altar Server Awards; Columbian Squires

Knight of the Month & Year Awards; Monthly Newsletter; Fundraisers; Parish Bulletin Advertisement; Sport Tournaments; Installation Banquet; Gumbo Competition; Communal Meal Prior to Monthly Meeting and after Quarterly Communions.
